Obituary

Obituary for William H. Schultz

William H. “Bill” Schultz went home to his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2021.
Born March 27, 1939 to the late Ruth and Howard Schultz, Bill was a lifelong resident in the same neighborhood in Willoughby. He attended Browning School and graduated with the last class from Willoughby Union High School in 1957.
Bill earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology, where he enjoyed comradery as a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He later received a Master’s Degree in Engineering Administration from Case.
Bill worked in various engineering and administrative positions for Addressograph Multigraph, Clevite/Gould/Westinghouse, and Stanley Air Tools, retiring in 2001.
Bill married the love of his life, Ann, in 1967 and they truly enjoyed raising three wonderful children together. The family was active at Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed numerous vacations to Conneaut Lake, Lake Chautauqua, and Ennismore Fishing Camp in Canada.
He enjoyed serving with his many friends at Trinity, particularly Pastors Schnedler and Schuler, as well as Frank Polly, who brought Bill to Trinity by personal invitation. At various times, Bill was Chairman of the Elders, the Congregation, and the Foundation. He was also the project coordinator for the restoration of Trinity House. Bill enjoyed house and yard work. He was particularly fond of Saturday woodworking projects with his dad for many years. After Dad died, Bill enjoyed visiting and helping his step-mother, Marjorie. Bill and Ann shared an interest in early American Life, including antiques, architecture, decorative arts, and life styles. They spent many vacations at historic sites and museums, and also enjoyed quiet times in the Adirondacks at Long Lake.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann (Matko); son, William David (Melissa); daughters, Jennifer (Edward) Mikolic and Karen (Matthew) Sipols; grandchildren, Jonathan and Abigail Schultz; brother, Robert; step-brother, Thomas (Christine) Ehlert; aunt, Phyllis Ruppert; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Howard; step-mothers, Doris and Marjorie; step-sisters, Susan Creed and Beth Russell; and in-laws, Paul and Sylvia Matko.
Private Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Final resting place in Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Foundation, 37728 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, OH 44094.

Ann,
I know your faith is a cornerstone - may you be comforted in Bill being home with his Creator. Be assured of our prayers and thoughts during these days and months. He always had a smile on his face and made me feel so comfortable at our family gatherings. He took time to inquire about how life was treating us- a beautiful trait. Please take good care of yourself. All our love, Michelle and Jim Mello
