It is with great sadness that the family of Shawn W. Farrell, 56, of Willoughby, announce his passing on August 17, 2020. After a great fight, he passed peacefully with his wife, Laura and sister-in-law, Carlene by his side. He was born April 12, 1964 in Garfield Heights.
In his early years, he was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Madison. He also enjoyed coaching Little League and racing cars at the Painesville Speedway. He was an avid motorcycle fan, attending many Louie Runs. Later in life, his hobbies included fishing, camping, woodworking, 4 wheeling, working on Coleman lanterns, and following Nascar. His annual camping trip was extremely special to him. Shawn truly loved being a grandfather. He most enjoyed spending time with his “puppy butt”, Oliver.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Laura C. (Persic) Farrell; son, Timothy Farrell; daughter, Alissa Farrell; step-daughter, Amber (Rory) Sullivan; grandchildren, Avayah, Hailie, Carlie, Elsie, and Alivia; brothers, Kelly Farrell and Kevin Farrell. He also leaves behind many friends, that he considered family, especially the entire Bolaney family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sharon (Cleary) Farrell.
The family would like to especially thank the Seidman Cancer Center, the Dialysis Center, and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their phenomenal care throughout Shawn’s illness.
Memorial service will be 7 PM Friday, August 21, 2020 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Social distancing protocols will be enforced and masks are required.
