Obituary

Obituary for Ronald F. Haworth

Ronald F. Haworth, 75, of Painesville Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home.

Born May 13, 1945 in East Cleveland, he was a longtime Northeast Ohio resident, retiring to South Carolina for ten years and returning to Lake County three years ago.

He loved learning, reading a good book, fishing, walking in the parks and spending time with family and friends, near and far. Ron received a resolution from the City of Eastlake for his many years of service as an educator and coach at Eastlake North High School.

He graduated from Eastlake North High School in Eastlake, class of 1963, where he met his wife-to-be, Jaclyn Augustine. He then graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with his Bachelor of Arts in Education and later from Cleveland State University with his Master’s degree in Education.

Ron served as a teacher, coach, athletic director and principal at Eastlake North School, and retired as the principal at the Willoughby-Eastlake Tech Center in Willoughby in 1992.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 57 years, Jaclyn (Augustine) Haworth; son, Patrick (wife, Lisa) (Fonic) Haworth; grandchildren, Ian, Sara and Julia and brother, Gordon Haworth of Florida. He also leaves many extended family members from his and Jackie’s family and his dog, Tink.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Sally (O’Keefe) Haworth and brothers, Robert and Michael Haworth.

To honor his wishes, private family services have been held.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Lake Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Boulevard, Unit E, Mentor, OH 44060.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
